Poem: Love at First Sight

Our mind tells us beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...
Its unfortunate our hearts cannot reach over our shoulder;
For maybe our heart could find inner beauty at first glance
And not leave our eyes to be mesmerized into a trance

They say when temptation is great your provided with an escape
But what if your too late…

People lie the moment they speak of looking for personality...
for appearance captures the eye is the reality.
We were taught to never judge a book by its cover…
But check the table of contents for qualifications of a lover;
Yet we pick our books hoping the return policy isn’t late
For we’d like to preview the book in a library classified as a date.
Cupid is the librarian thus he doesn’t sell insurance,
Some books are insecure thus welcoming all tourists.
Used books are helpful when they’re refurbished and clean
And compliments of looking new boosts self esteem

They say God don’t like ugly but he aint too fond of pretty neither...
A balance is in need which explains why a common cold is accompanied with a fever.
To be a champion enter the ship of relations with confidence
your trophy will be waiting inside… this is common sense.
Never trade a diamond for rhinestones...
relationships are bound to have swirls like a cone;
Enjoy the flavor in hopes that it lasts long;
Enjoy the sound so much - repeat the same song;

playing a harmony as beautiful as the book of psalms
hoping understanding of the other is accessible in the palm
no bandages to cover cuts – first you must understand oneself
translation becomes as smooth as the whispers of the breath
Without love for oneself looking in the mirror may become unfamiliar
Which in essence would make our ocular vision very peculiar
Thus the heart and mind agrees with this advice
sight first at love before you seek love at first sight
